POSTPARTUM SERVICES

After a baby is born the wild ride of parenthood begins! The first few months of life with a newborn can be magical but it is also easy to feel overwhelmed and exhausted while navigating this new existence.

Having help in the postpartum period takes away some of burden new parents can feel while they are adjusting to life with a baby (or babies).

When I come over for a postpartum visit I help the family with basic needs that can suddenly feel challenging to do while taking care of a newborn. The visits can include taking care of the baby so that one or both of the parents can nap or work, answering questions about newborn care, breastfeeding/chestfeeding support, helping prepare light meals and doing laundry, helping to prepare sitz baths for healing and teaching gentle stretches to help sore muscles after giving birth. Each visit is tailored to what the new family needs.

Doula support at night is all about taking care of the baby while the parents sleep. I stay up with the baby, change their diapers and soothe them. The parents are only woken up if the baby is ready to breastfed/chestfed (if that's the plan) or if the baby is inconsolable.

The cost of postpartum services is $30 for daytime help and $40 for overnight help. Contact Natalie for more detailed info, if you have any questions or would like to set up a postpartum visit.
