Fall Forest Bathing & Foraging
Sunday, Nov 2
11 - 3pm
Wonderland Community Project, Shadowlane & Thompson Rd, Wonder Lake, IL
Join certified forest therapy guide Cathy McCauley and forager & doula Natalie Ann Evans for a day of connection, nourishment and presence on the land.
We’ll begin with a 2-hour guided forest bath and sensory walk to slow down our bodies and minds and open our senses to the rhythms of the forest. Following our forest walk, we’ll join to celebrate and enjoy a prepared foraged lunch and to literally taste the Earth. In the afternoon, we’ll gather for guided foraging, learning to identify and harvest seasonal edible plants with care and respect.
Together, we’ll explore:
Embodiment practices that deepen presence in nature
Ethical foraging and building relationship with plants
Ways to enliven gratitude for all that Earth provides
Leave with a renewed connection to your place in nature and nourished by stillness, awareness and gifts of the land.
Fall Forest Bathing & Foraging: $90 per person. Please contact Cathy or Natalie for sliding scale and scholarship options. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. A 20% donation of class fees will be given to Wonderland for restoration work.
Lunch menu:
Acorn bread
Woodland mushroom soup
Wild green frittata
Pickled burdock root
Black walnut & rosemary chocolate cake
Dandelion root “coffee”
Goldenrod chai
Please note that Wonderland is quite rustic. There is no running water and one small compost toilet. We are working on accessibility but are not there yet. Please contact Natalie with questions about accessibility or any other questions about the land.
