WILD EDIBLE PICNIC & PLANT WALK

2024 date TBA soon!

$40 per person*

Find out about the wild edible foods growing all around you!  Learn how to identify, forage, and eat wild plants in a responsible and ethical way. This event begins with a picnic where you can enjoy some pre-made foraged food and beverages while learning how to identify wild foods and forage safely. Then we will go on a plant walk around the park to point out the wild foods in season.

There will be no foraging on the walk to help prevent damage to the ecosystem the plants reside in. Careless foraging can lead to certain plants becoming endangered and if you are caught foraging in areas where it's illegal to forage you will be fined. However I will provide notecards with information on the edible plants that you can snap pictures of to keep for future reference and use this information to harvest plants in acceptable locations.

*$40 per person (reach out to Natalie for sliding scale and scholarship options), $10 of every fee will goes to various organizations doing good work for the earth. For this picnic and plant walk I will be donating to Food Not Bombs—Canton, Cincinnati, & Central Ohio chapters to help support people effected by the train wreck.

Cancellation policy: You will receive a full refund if you cancel 48 hour before the event or you can receive credit to attend a future plant walk. REGISTER HERE

YARD CONSULTATIONS: Eat Your Weeds!
The weeds people are trying to banish from their yards are often actually nutrient-dense wild foods. Natalie will join you on a walkthrough of your property to help you identify the edible plants you may already have growing in your yard. She will bring note cards which general information about the plant that you can take pictures of and refer back to later . Following the walkthrough, Natalie will email participants a list of the plants that were found, which part(s) of the plant can be harvested, and how to prepare them.
The cost is $75 for this service.
